Privacy Policy

Last updated 12 July 2026

This page explains what information ownkit collects when you visit ownkit.io, why, and what choices you have. It is written in plain language. If anything here is unclear, email social@ownkit.io.

Who this policy covers

This policy covers the ownkit.io marketing website and waitlist. It does not yet cover the individual tools (reviews, booking, chat, forms, and so on), since those are still being built. Each tool will get its own, more detailed privacy notice once it is live, covering the specific data it handles for your customers.

Information you give us

If you join the waitlist, we store the email address you enter, the date you joined, and which page you joined from. We use this only to tell you when ownkit is ready and to follow up about early access. We do not sell or rent this list to anyone.

If you email us, we keep that email like any normal inbox message, so we can reply and keep a record of the conversation.

Information collected automatically

Like most websites, ownkit.io uses a small number of analytics tools to understand how the site is used, so we can improve it. These only run if you accept cookies in the banner shown on your first visit.

ToolWhat it is forWhat it collects
Google Analytics 4Traffic and usage trends, which pages get visited, and whether the waitlist form gets usedPages viewed, general location (country/city level), device type, referring site. No name or email is sent to Google Analytics.
Microsoft ClaritySession recordings and click patterns, to see where visitors get stuckMouse movement, clicks, and scrolling on the page. Clarity automatically masks text in form fields, so typed input like your email is not recorded.
PostHogProduct analytics, to see which parts of the site and future tools get usedPages viewed, button clicks, and general usage patterns, tied to an anonymous browser ID unless you are signed in to a tool.

All three tools are loaded through a single Google Tag Manager container, so they can be reviewed, changed, or turned off in one place. None of them are used to sell your data or show you ads on other sites.

Cookies and your choices

When you first visit ownkit.io, a small banner asks whether you are okay with analytics cookies. If you decline, the tools in the table above stay switched off and no analytics cookies are set. If you accept, they turn on. You can change your mind at any time by clearing your browser's cookies for this site, which will show the banner again on your next visit.

This site does not use cookies for advertising or ad targeting.

How long we keep information

Waitlist emails are kept until ownkit launches and for a reasonable period after, so we can follow up, unless you ask us to delete your entry sooner. Analytics data is kept according to each tool's own default retention period (typically 14 months for Google Analytics, shorter rolling windows for session recordings in Clarity and PostHog).

Your choices

Who we share information with

We do not sell your information. We share it only with the service providers that make the site work: Cloudflare (hosting and the waitlist database), Google (Analytics and Tag Manager), Microsoft (Clarity), and PostHog (product analytics). Each of these processes data under their own privacy terms, which you can find on their sites.

Changes to this policy

As ownkit grows and the individual tools launch, this page will be updated to reflect what has changed. The "last updated" date at the top will always show when that last happened.
